Currently Offered Programs

In collaboration with the Aaron Community Cultural Center, Buffalo Soldiers also offers you an opportunity to become a part of either family in your search to becoming a Direction Cadet, a future Entreprenuer or someone in need of assistance and direction in obtaining a scholarhip for college or vocational education .

Below explains briefly the three programs we support.  If you have any questions about any of these programs, please feel free to email us at BuffaloSoldiersLA@gmail.com.

Interested in becoming a Volunteer?  Awesome! Click here to apply!

DIRECTION CADET PROGRAM

The mission of the young cadets is to preserve history, and to educate and assist youth ages 12 to 25 in completing their community service hours; learn order and discipline; and prepare cadets for military service and leadership.

Each youth must submit an application, two letters of recommendation, and complete an online or face-to-face interview.  Each participant will need to complete eight (8) or more hours per month in training, volunteering, and eight (8) hours or more of community  service. There is no fee attached to participation.

This program is truly for youth who want to ‘stand out in the crowd’ on education, employment, and entrepreneurial applications.
EARN & LEARN PROGRAM

Considered to be a virtual entrepreneurial training class for youth and the community- at-large, the participant will be taught goal-setting and entrepreneurial skills. The primary focus of the Earn and Learn Program is to work as a community with volunteer interns through extern-ships, and to enhance and develop entrepreneurial skills and hours, both on and offline. We will also assist the trainee in setting up an entrepreneurial club.

The training will be done in daily and weekly sessions that will occur via a telephone conference line.

The first meeting will consist of a face-to-face meeting to register, go through orientation, select a goal partner, and take two assessments:  the first to assess personality and the second to assess the trainee’s skills set.  At that time the trainee will set their business goals. This portion of the assessment can take up to three (3) hours.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Individuals who participate in the Earn and Learn Program and volunteer on- or off-line with the ACCC and the Buffalo Soldiers will have an opportunity to receive a scholarship for a college or vocational education.
